To be completely clear, none of the following is offered, for cars or anything else:

Three places account for a lot of these calls. The streets behind Muchavista, where 3.3 kilometres of beach mean a long walk back to the car with a bag, a towel and children, and keys left on a seat. The port, where the Club Náutico has 476 berths and a day on a boat often starts with keys locked in the car on the quay. And the school runs to the French Lycée at Villa Marco, with more than 1,300 pupils, where a car left running for a moment can lock itself.

Four things to check first
- Every door and the boot, including the passenger side: one is often still open.
- A spare key at home, or with someone who could bring it.
- Your insurance: many policies include roadside assistance that covers this.
- Somewhere safe to wait, out of the sun in summer, and away from traffic.

The keys are in the boot and the car locked itself.
Common with cars that lock automatically when the boot is shut. The car is opened through a door, and once you are inside the boot release usually lets you reach the keys.
The car is a rental. Who do I ring first, them or you?
Check your rental agreement: some companies want to be told, or send their own assistance. If they agree to a local locksmith, or you cannot reach them, we can open it, with the agreement in your name as proof.
Will opening the door set the alarm off?
It may. It stops as soon as the car is unlocked with its own key, which is why the keys need to be inside, or with you, at the end of the job.
I have lost my car key altogether. Can you make me one?
No. Making, cutting or programming car keys is not something this business does. For that, contact the dealer for your make or a specialist in automotive keys. We can only open the car.
